Why live in Bahar ic-Caghaq?
Sea views
A high proportion of what is available looks straight out over the water.
Between everything
Roughly halfway between the harbour towns and the north, which suits people who work in one and play in the other.
The bay
Swimming below the road, and the coast path along it.
Quiet in winter
Once the summer traffic goes, it is a calm place to live.
The lifestyle
The coast road defines this address. It is the main artery between the harbour area and the north, it is busy, and in summer it is very busy — properties on the seaward side get the view and the traffic noise together. Set back from it, things are considerably calmer. There is very little here in the way of shops or services, so a car is necessary and most errands mean driving to Naxxar, Swieqi or St Paul’s Bay. The water park brings families and traffic in season. For somebody who wants sea views without harbour-town prices and does not mind driving, it works well.
Property in Bahar ic-Caghaq
A small market. Mostly apartments, many built to face the sea, with some villas on the higher ground behind. Sea-view flats here are less expensive than their equivalents in the towns, which is the main reason people look. Newer blocks have lifts and parking; older stock can be dated. Availability is limited simply because the area is small, so timing matters more than choice.
Who is this area best for?
Couples
Well-sized flats with a view, and quiet outside the summer.
Sea-view seekers
The most affordable outlook over open water on this coast.
Drivers
Straightforward runs both north and south.
Less suited to
Anyone without a car, families needing schools and shops nearby, and light sleepers on the road side.
