Why live in Xghajra?
Sea at the door
A seafront address at a fraction of what the same view costs on the north-east coast.
Quiet
Little through traffic and almost no tourism.
Swimming
Rocky shore and open water, used year-round by locals.
The Three Cities
Cottonera and its restaurants are a short drive.
The lifestyle
Xghajra is small, exposed and quiet. The seafront takes the weather directly, which is dramatic in winter and worth considering for anything front-facing. There is very little in the village itself — a few shops and bars — and everything else means driving to Zabbar or the Three Cities. Buses are limited. The power station site and the industrial east are nearby, which shapes the outlook in some directions. For somebody who wants to live by the water and cannot afford to do it on the other coast, this is one of the few remaining answers.
Property in Xghajra
A small market of apartments and maisonettes, with some townhouses in the older part. Sea-view units cost far less than their equivalents in the north-east. Newer blocks have appeared along the front. Condition varies, and salt exposure is hard on buildings here, so maintenance history is worth asking about. Furnished and unfurnished both occur.
