The lifestyle
Birkirkara is dense and busy, with heavy traffic on the main roads that run through it and limited parking in much of the town. The old core around the basilica is quieter and has real character; a lot of the rest is ordinary apartment blocks. It is a Maltese town rather than an international one, which some people want and others find harder to settle into. What it reliably offers is space and access for less money than anywhere coastal.
Property in Birkirkara
Mainly apartments and maisonettes, with older townhouses in the core. Prices are noticeably lower than the coast and the harbour towns, and flats are often larger for the same rent. Condition varies widely — there is a lot of older stock in need of work alongside modernised units. Both furnished and unfurnished lets are common.
