Living in Msida
The town around the university and the marina at the head of the creek. Msida is a transport hub more than a destination, which makes it convenient and busy in equal measure — and it is the obvious choice for anyone studying.

Why live in Msida?
The university
The main campus is here, and a great deal of the local letting market exists because of it.
Central to everywhere
Msida sits where several main routes meet, so most of the island is easy to reach.
The marina
The creek and its boats give the town a centre and a pleasant walk.
Value
Generally cheaper than the neighbouring coastal towns.
The lifestyle
Msida is dominated by its junction, which is one of the busiest on the island and unpleasant at peak hours. Away from it, the town is ordinary and liveable, with a mix of older houses and newer flats. The student presence gives parts of it a distinct rhythm — busy in term, noticeably quieter outside it — and buildings near campus turn over frequently. It is not a scenic town and does not pretend to be; what it offers is access and price.
Property in Msida
A mix of older housing and newer apartment blocks. A significant share of the rental stock is let by the room or configured for sharing, driven by student demand. Whole-flat family lettings exist but are less common than in the surrounding towns. Condition varies widely, and the difference between a refurbished flat and an original one is stark at similar rents.
Who is this area best for?
Students
The most obvious place to live if you are studying at the university.
Academics and staff
Walk to campus.
Budget-conscious professionals
Central access at a lower rent than the coast.
Less suited to
Families wanting quiet, and anyone who would be near the main junction.
