Living in Paceville
Malta’s entertainment district, and a residential address at the same time. Almost everything written about Paceville is about the bars; what matters to somebody renting here is that it is also a dense, extremely well-connected pocket of flats a short walk from a great many of the island’s offices.

Why live in Paceville?
You can walk to work
A large share of Malta’s international employers sit within a few minutes of here, which removes the commute entirely.
Everything is open
Food at any hour, a gym on most streets, and a supermarket within a couple of minutes wherever you are.
Sharing is normal
More flats here are set up for sharers than anywhere else on the island, so a room is easier to find than a whole flat elsewhere.
Transport
One of the best-served bus interchanges outside Valletta, and taxis at any hour.
The lifestyle
Nobody should rent in Paceville without hearing it first. Thursday to Sunday the noise runs into the early morning and it is not the sort a closed window solves — it is people in the street rather than music through a wall. Which side of the block a bedroom faces changes the experience completely, and two flats in the same building can be very different places to sleep. Away from the core streets it settles quickly. Cleaning after weekends is visible, parking is close to impossible, and the people living here turn over constantly. What you get in exchange is the shortest commute in Malta and a place where nothing is ever shut.
Property in Paceville
Predominantly apartments, and a high proportion of the stock has been arranged for sharing — rooms let individually, communal kitchens, sometimes a bill-inclusive arrangement. There are also ordinary one and two-bedroom flats and some newer blocks with lifts and air conditioning. Furnished is the default and turnover is fast, so availability changes weekly. Anything on the quieter uphill edge, or with a terrace facing away from the centre, is asked after more than the plain seafront-adjacent units.
Who is this area best for?
Sharers
The largest supply of room-by-room lettings in Malta, and neighbours doing the same thing.
People working nearby
If the office is in St Julian’s or Sliema this is a walk rather than a commute.
Short stays
Easy to arrive into, easy to leave, and furnished as standard.
Less suited to
Families, light sleepers, and anyone who needs to be up early on a Saturday. The quiet flats here exist but they are the exception.
